Welcome back!
Recently, we’ve been discussing heavy metal toxicity and how to rid your body of dangerous chemicals like lead and mercury …
So, if you haven’t already, check out Heavy Metal Detox Series: Pt. 1-2 to get up to speed …
This time, we’re going to explore in more detail how to do a simple DIY detox using the niacin plus heat protocol ...
It’s almost 50 years old, has been clinically studied, and is often used by health professionals as a part of heavy-duty health reset programs.
In fact, this program successfully detoxed 9/11 firefighters who were experiencing neurological issues as a result of toxin exposure. Cool, huh?
The first time I tried it, I used an old-school "Rocky" style approach …
And, as usual, it’s kind of a funny story. Here goes …
I took a high dose of Niacin, put on about 5 layers or so, and went for an hour run …
I did this a few times just to see what it was like, but it turned out to be a bad idea for me at the time …
I just couldn't sweat long enough to get the toxins out, temporarily overloading my detox pathways ...
It didn’t help that I still had some serious metal - plates AND screws - in my wrist from an old sports injury that impeded the flush …
Enough to give me flu-like symptoms! Yep, not good.
Don’t worry, I took binders as soon as I could and recovered quickly.
Overall, this is a legitimate way to detox fat with heat when you don't have access to an infrared or regular sauna - just be sure to take a binder ASAP if you start to feel woozy …
The trick is to take the Niacin, wait for your fat to start to mobilize, and jump in a sauna once the toxins start releasing …
You’ll sweat them out through your body’s largest detox organ: your skin.
Again, any heat source will do - even a really hot bath - but infrared is best.
What everyone gets wrong is dosing the B3.
If you go too high - like I did - you become drastically uncomfortable. Your skin literally gets hot and itchy.while it flushes.
Furthermore, you risk feeling nauseous and having low-energy afterwards. In a word ...
The timing is also critically important, and most people mess this step up as well.
Step one is using B3/Niacin and heat to detox your body from where toxins are stored: your fat.
Step two is safely excreting those toxins, as I was saying ....
There are two ways to do this, and you must do BOTH.
The first is to sweat the toxins out through your skin via exercise and sauna - we covered this.
The second is make sure that you capture the toxins released in your G.I. tract.
You get toxins out of your G.I. tract by binding them with one of the following ...
1. Activated Charcoal
2. Zeolite
3. Bentonite Clay
4. Oils
Using a binder ensures you get everything out safely and that the toxins are not put back into active circulation then re-absorbed by your body.
This can harm your detox pathways and delicate nerve tissue in the process - exactly what we’re trying to prevent.
Follow these important steps:
1. Dosing: Day 1, you take 100 mg of B3. If your skin flushes, you take the same amount of B3 on Day 2. Do NOT increase the niacin, even if the reaction is slight. Use this same rule of thumb each day. Only increase by 100 mg each day if you have no reaction or a diminished reaction from the previous day. Do NOT increase by more than 100 mg until you reach 1000 mg. This would take 10 days if you have no reactions. You build up a tolerance to B3, which is why you do increase the amount over time.
2. Timing: Peak toxin release occurs exactly 3 hours after taking B3, so take it 3 hours before getting into your heat source. If you are using a sauna, work up a sweat through exercise 2.5 hours beforehand to maximize the effect. At hour 3, get in the infrared sauna, exercise with many layers on, or take a very hot bath for one hour.
3. Binding: Take your binder IMMEDIATELY afterward. MANY people get this step wrong by mistaking the flush caused by B3 for the toxin release effect and get in the sauna right away. This means by the time they get out, shower, etc, the detox is just starting. As they’re not sweating, this can be harmful because the toxins are once again in active circulation.
4. Duration: Ideally, repeat every day for 21 days for a total reset ... Get a calendar and plan it out if you need to ... Otherwise, do as many days in a row as you can ...
To find out what additional supplements you may need, seach “niacin and sauna detox” to see what experts have documented over the last 50 years …
For instance, you can take healthy oils to help prevent reabsorption of the toxins by your gut …
AND replace the fat being broken down with healthy, clean fats, which makes sense.
There’s even a “Smart Detox with Sauna and Niacin Protocol” group on Facebook.
Again, follow the protocol properly and you should experience increased energy, cognition, and weight loss almost immediately.
Just dont’ wear all those sweats in the sauna - there are other ways to keep the weight off ... Til Next Time …
Stay Healthy, My Friends!
