An “Old-Timey” Cell-Energizing Tonic:

Welcome Back!

By now, I hope you understand the importance of electricity to your cells and that you’ve tried some of the cheap, simple, all natural methods for recharging them we’ve discussed …

Well, this time I want to share another “Old Time Remedy” with you guaranteed to power up your cells  … 

And it turns out that most of the natural old-timey fixes – the ones that worked – all had this one thing in common: 

They were strong electron donors! 

They worked because they restored proper electrical balance in your cells, and they still do today, if you know how to use them properly …

You see, the different remedies you run across stem from what herbs, minerals, and foods were available in the particular region a folk remedy came from …

For example, the Essiac Tea formula we discussed last time uses 4 herbs:

  • Burdock Root
  • Sheep Sorrel
  • Turkey Rhubarb
  • Slippery Elm

Native to parts of the North Eastern U.S. and Canada where the Ojibwa medicine men gathered and brewed them …

Just like the Spring Detox Tea recipe we talked about uses spring water and fresh Stinging Nettle easily found in forests all over the country.

Both of these forgotten healing decoctions work because they raise cell voltage and restore the electrical balance in your cells the “old-fashioned” way.

Now, technically, true teas are only made from the leaves of a tea plant and tend to contain caffeine whereas …

“Infusions” – or “Decoctions” – are herbal in origin, don’t contain caffeine, and can be blended. Blends can use many parts of the plant, such as roots, leaves, bark, stems, and so on. 

However, some herbal decoctions are historically known as “teas,” so I use the term where appropriate. 

That said, there’s another forgotten but powerful cell-energizing tonic infusion that’s simple to make, as promised …

And all you need is one basic ingredient that’s super easy to find and harvest …

Pine Needles!

It makes sense once you realize pine needles are extremely rich in Vitamin C …

In fact, they have about three to five times more than an orange …

And, as we’ve discussed many times, Vitamin C is a strong electron donor that works in your body in ways you can’t even imagine, and … 

You may not recall, but humans are among the only animals whose bodies do not produce their own vitamin C.

So getting as much as you can as often as you can is SUPER important …

Including by drinking “Pine Needle Tonic,” which I’ll teach you how to make in a minute …

But first – a quick story …. 

In 1536, French explorer Jacques Cartier and his entire crew were suffering from scurvy due to months of nutritional deprivation at sea …

The Iroquois managed to cure them almost instantly with a tea made from pine needles and bark! 

Crazy, right?

I think this story is even more relevant today when you consider the staggering amount of oxidative stress we’re all exposed to by modern living …

For example, it’s why many of us are walking around with something called Hypoascorbemia, also known as “subclinical scurvy” …  

It’s a real problem, and you should take in as much vitamin C as you can daily to prevent it from happening to you …. 

So, to that end, here’s how you can make this simple decoction rich in Vitamin C quickly and easily at home, for zero cost …

How To Make “Pine Needle Tonic”:

You Will Need:

  • ½ Cup of pine needles 
  • 3 Cups of filtered or spring water (NO tap water)
  • Stainless steel pot with lid

Instructions:

  • Bring water to boil
  • Once it reaches a roiling boil, toss in the pine needles and immediately reduce to a slow simmer 
  • Simmer for 20 minutes with the cover on
  • Take off the heat
  • Let it sit overnight with the lid on (unrefrigerated) for a stronger brew

Don’t worry, if you just can’t wait that long, you can simply strain the needles out and enjoy it right away!

Now, here’s some important facts about Pine Needles you should know …

Newer pine needles have less Vitamin C than older needles, and two-year-old needles have the most … 

Also, older pine needles make for a more bitter, piney taste whereas younger needles have a milder taste …

And White Pine is my favorite because it has a really nice flavor.

Whatever you do, be sure to AVOID the following:

  • Yew Pine
  • Norfolk Island Pine
  • Ponderosa Pine
  • Lodgepole Pine

And NEVER boil the needles for long, as it destroys the Vitamin C …

That said, use this Old-timey folk recipe to quickly recharge your cells whenever you need it …
