Alright, so last time we discussed using Sound as a way of passively discharging immune-compromising stress from your body and brain …
If you haven’t already, go back and check out pt. 1: of our “Healthy Sounds Good” series Hit Your Body’s Reset Button to get up to speed …
Now, as I said before, you don’t have to invest in a clinical-grade device like the HUSO to take advantage of these ancient, all-natural Sound Healing therapies …
I just like it because I don’t have to do anything, and I know I can expect a full reset every time I use it …
Plus, let’s be honest. I’m kind of a nerd when it comes to unique biohacking type devices.
That said, there are plenty of free, all-natural ways to activate your body’s own natural healing intelligence using sound - like the one I want to discuss here …
The ancient Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku or “forest bathing” - i.e.just walking or sitting around in the woods with a calm demeanor, soaking in beneficial native EMF...
In case you didn’t know, there are good and bad electromagnetic frequencies, aka EMF …
Helpful Earth and biological-derived EMF are called “Native EMF” …
Harmful EMF’s - like, say your Wi-Fi router signal - are “Non-Native EMF.”
A ton of studies found “forest bathing” exposes you to all sorts of beneficial sound and electromagnetic frequencies that heal your body and mind …
This is pretty cool if you think about it:
The forest is full of beneficial EMF and you’re an electrical being in an electrical world.
Remember our conversation about the Alpha Brainwave state?
Well, it has a specific frequency range - about 10Hz.
Being in a forest exposes you to hundreds of thousands of frequencies with the statistical average of 7.83Hz …
This is known as the Schumann Resonance and puts your brain in a “Theta” state.
Most of your time in non-REM sleep is spent in Theta.
When you’re awake, Theta produces a state of calm relaxation that stimulates deep creative insights.
Here’s why this is so cool …
If you stand next to a tree, even with your shoes on, you are bathed in beneficial Native EMF because trees are wet, highly conductive, and act as big antenna for this frequency emanating from the earth itself.
The Native EMF field circulates in a Torus , or donut shape, with the tree at the center.
Looks like the tree huggers were actually onto something, eh?
One other really neat thing:
Most infants and young children, while awake, are mostly in Theta – this is because they are learning so much, so fast.
The brain in Theta is considered to be like a learning or data sponge. Theta allows massive amounts of information to be loaded into your brain.
Naturally I had to test this out using a Frequency-Based PEMF Unit…
I set the frequency for 7.83Hz, put the applicators on my head, and started reading.
I have to say It does, in fact, work. On a crazy scale!
There are many anecdotal accounts of people listening to lectures all night while using one of these devices to get into the Theta Learning state and absorb huge amounts of information they ordinarily wouldn’t be able to.
What’s PEMF, you ask?
It stands for Pulsed Electromagnetic Field …
For our purposes, it’s a piece of technology that replicates beneficial Native EMF’s, like the Schumann Resonance, along with other beneficial frequencies, like Delta for deep sleep.
It’s kind of like using the HUSO if you don’t have time to attend a Gregorian Chant or an acoustic sound bath … or access to a forest …
If you do, that means you can even practice other natural ways to passively reduce stress Outdoors - like Exercise, Grounding, and Meditation - while you soak up all that healing Native EMF ......
If you don’t have the time or means to forest bathe, you can grab a PEMF unit, dial in the effect you want, and chill out. It’s pretty neat …
AND considering that beneficial Native EMF cancels out the negative effects of harmful Non-Native EMF, I think the tech is worth having around your home.
“Tune” in next time for pt. 2: of our “Healthy Sounds Good” series to learn more about that “Tuning Fork” we talked about earlier ...
And other ways to reduce stress and promote better quality sleep using Sound ...
‘Til Then … go take a walk in the woods …
And don’t be afraid to hug a tree - it’s good for you both!
To Your Better Health,
Theo
