Welcome Back!
If you’ve followed our conversation on Gut Health so far, you know why it’s essential to your mental and physical well being …
AND some key ways to reduce the impact of a poor diet on your digestive system …
If not, check out Be Good to Your Gut 1-3 to put this into context cause we’re gonna dive right back in …
That said, if you suffer from gut issues and have tried everything we’ve covered so far …
Don’t worry, I’ve still got a couple bonafide ACES up my sleeve you can try. The first is my ...
Before Eating:
1. Humic/Fulvic Acid – Lines the gut and closes the tight junctions that are leaky from inflammation
Before or During Eating:
2. Enzymes – Pre-digests your foods and makes the nutrition far more bio-available
Before the “Main Meal”:
3. Fermented Foods – Loaded with prebiotics and probiotics your gut flora loves
Several Times Per Week:
4. Bone broth, usually supplemented with collagen protein – Raw material to heal and rebuild the gut lining
This simple regimen has greatly reduced my symptoms from leaky gut like bloating, brain fog, moodiness, and lack of energy …
Just don’t undo this positive action in your gut by drinking chlorinated water or eating mass-produced fruits and vegetables saturated with herbicides and pesticides ...
Do your best to eat only organic, non-GMO produce and eat fermented foods like yogurt, kimchi, kombucha, or sauerkraut every day. Also …
If you only do one thing for gut health, I cannot recommend enzymes enough; you produce less of them in your body as you get older, and they make the biggest impact!
AND if you’re suffering from severe Leaky Gut, then add a high quality colostrum first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.
Remember, your gut is a living, organic system that needs daily maintenance …
Regardless of how diligent you are, however, sometimes you just need to “clean house” so to speak and physically sweep out your gut.
To that end, I recommend a simple DIY Bowel Cleansing Protocol …
Don’t worry, it’s easy to do and literally works while you sleep.
Plus, it’s a close equivalent to clinical-grade deep hydration therapy - for a fraction of the cost … more like a fraction of a fraction …
Again, this is something you NEED to do periodically whether you have a Leaky Gut or not.
WHY?
This is a bit gross, so bear with me while I explain …
Over time, fecal matter can get tightly packed into the natural creases and folds in your gut where it sits - for days, weeks, or even months - preventing nutrient absorption AND releasing toxins ...
You need something to pass by these areas of impacted feces, physically hooking and pulling them out for elimination.
So … what removes “poop plaque”?
Psyllium Husks.
Psyllium husks mechanically remove these intestinal blockages and clean you out!
Don’t be surprised if you see odd looking things in your toilet bowl, as what comes out matches the shape of the creases in your bowels.
Also, the darker it is, the older it is.
The first time I did this, I had something come out that was almost black!
This discovery alone makes “sweeping out” your bowels on the regular a super good idea. Here’s what you do ...
What To Do:
In short, buy whole organic psyllium husks in bulk form, blend some with water, and chug it. Repeat as needed ...
How To Do It:
1. Take a minimum of 2-3 tablespoons of husks
2. Combine with enough water so you don’t gag from the texture
3. Throw in a blender for a few seconds and
4. Drink it down as fast as you can - Just grit your teeth and do it!
5. Yes, you get used to the texture over time
6. But add more water if you’re gagging.
7. Repeat for several consecutive days, as needed
What To Know:
1. Again, to really clean yourself out, do this several days in a row
2. Typically, I can do it in one shot - if I take a large enough amount.
3. The dose matters, so consider increasing yours if you prefer this approach
4. For max “broom sweeping action” do it on an empty stomach.
I recommend doing this before bed and chasing it with a glass or two of water; the husks will absorb the water and release it slowly during the night.
This not only DEEPLY hydrates you, but it has surprising anti-aging benefits as well.
It’s something I do regularly for these reasons ...
No, you won’t have to get up to pee in the night ;-)
‘Til Next Time … if you want to feel healthier and have more energy on the regular …
Do your best to eat healthy Non-GMO organic fruits and vegetables, drink the right kind of water, and get plenty of rest, exercise, and sunlight every day …
AND try the four simple steps I just outlined as they have helped me the most, in the shortest amount of time.
Like I said, I do all four every day and cannot express how much they’ve corrected my gut issues …
Give it a shot and track how you feel so you can tailor them to your own body …
A healthy gut is the foundation for a healthy body and a healthy mind.
So … Be Good to Your Gut!
Thanks for joining the conversation …
Have a Happy AND Healthy New Year!
